Some MenA Poem by DonielleMikelcurious thingsSome men will burst into your home with their hands already balled into fists
They will pour you a drink, ready to baptize you. They will help your aching body into bed, all to lie beside you. Some men will whisper into your ears, and tell you all the nice things your father never did some men will hold you like you are a ripe fruit, like you may bruise too easily some men will bruise you easily some men will want to swallow you whole with you on the inside, he can finally push out his chest some men will step on your shoulders to see out the highest window but even with you beneath him, he wont be able to reach his potential. Some men are magical and vast, Bike riders, navy seals, musicians, doctors, farmers, painter, builders all with gifted hands. all looking for a place to call home. To some men, you are home. But do not let some men break your walls, crack your sink, remove the cushion from your couches, make you uncomfortable in your own body, stifle the beauty of your roses in the garden hidden among the thorns. To Some men, you are home. You are home. It is time for some men to leave. To a one bed room tiny enough for him to have one on one conversations with himself. To find where his new home will be. You see, you can not build homes within other people. Someone should have taught you that by now. © 2016 DonielleMikel |
