To Fall For Fantasy

To Fall For Fantasy

A Poem by Doni Alec Moe
"

Please don't love somebody for a story from another.

"
You've made me a spectacle, you've fallen for fantasy
You've never given a single actual f**k about me
Because you're gasping for air but drowning in woes
If I stick by your side can I stay in my clothes?
You've stripped me of pride and left me disrobed
If I say I'm aroused will you return to my home?
There's a pit in my chest with a sign that reads "free"
You're the fourth to observe and unanimously agree
It's broken enough to collect it's debris
And hold it for convenience to write in my obituary
Your walls are plastered with posters of Blink 182
And darling, for that I love you
And it hurts me more to say it
Than it does for you to believe it

The purpose of the sudden change in feel is to simulate disconnect.
