Guilt Butterflies

Guilt Butterflies

A Poem by Cat
"

This is one of my favorite poems that I have written. I hope y'all are able to read between the lines and enjoy my work.

"

Hope

is the word that I will

never trust

Hope

is the word that is

carved into my wrist

Hope

is the feeling I get

on days like this

Days that everything goes ok

even though

I always know

that I will just be disappointed

Let the BUTTERFLIES OF GUILT out of my chest

and into the air

To be free

start anew

Hope

is what those BUTTERFLIES survive on

Hope

is what makes them

sore

Hope

Will be the thing

that crushes their

wings when

their hopes fly just a little to high

Hope

is the death

of my BUTTERFLIES OF GUILT

As soon as I am relieved of my guilt

No matter what it's from

The hope that things can be good

once again only

leads to disappointment

And the demise of my

GUILT BUTTERFLIES
