GisselleA Poem by Don Schaefferthe effect of dance on my lifeGisselle . Thank goodness there is still this much joy in the world, the fading grey world. They throw themselves into it, tilting their bodies with each throw of their legs. They care for their steps and every knee shift is a gift. They aspire to the sky adding elaborations in their leaps that pass in a texture, like loops in a tapestry stretched over an eyeblink. It passes so quickly an evening with pretzels and cheese leads right to sleep.
