Your Legacy Will Live OnA Poem by Dominique LambrightMy grandpa's good karma blessed a lot of usYour Legacy Will Live On Let me start from the beginning, In my eyes you were a hero Even still, you are one by far None remember you a zero You spread blessings as you walked by Happiness sprouted from your eyes Your spirit always showed merit No one expected the goodbyes From the minute you woke daily, To the moment you laid back down God chose you to come here and pose To show us how to float, not drown You were one with ongoing faith, You never gave into the snakes Lying in wait, but it wasn't fate Not perfect though, you made mistakes And this was the beauty of it You showed me I could have flaws And treat people on the street well You urge the book of faithful laws In this I wish to be most like you I will not be as religious, But someone who can strut valor And for this I am ambitious They say your spirits get passed down Through generations they emerge Troubles and fumbles that happen Are family history purge Along time we can make fixes Sometimes hide; but after awhile It comes down to you and your due; You made the legacy worthwhile By: Dominique Lambright 8/29/13 © 2013 Dominique LambrightAuthor's Note
