Wife Material

Wife Material

A Poem by Dominique Lambright
"

Kind of humorous, and if I offend you maybe you should re-evaluate why you feel offended by this

"

Wife Material

For all the women who ask

Don’t get mad when told and put to the task

Why aren’t you wife material?

Well here are a few reasons why

A man wants a lady in the streets

But a freak in the sheets

So while you’re out twerking

And foot working

Though it may be “sexy” and all

Where’s the mystery and worth haul

On YouTube you ratchet a*s hoes

Letting it all hang out with your crusty a*s toes

Want to give it up to any man throwing money

But where’s your morals honey

We’re not video vixens or strippers

Thinking that sex is the way to a man’s heart

No, you’re selling yourself short

Self respect

And then you can expect

The worth of a real man

Is something you can’t handle

For he wants a woman

Not an imitation of the worst part

So there’s your answer
Don’t get mad because you’re not wife material

Just go back, sit down, and finish your cereal

Stop making real women look bad

Because you’re mad

Truthful poem. I find it extremely hard to find a woman i would seriously consider dating now a days. The hoe has become widely accepted as to what a woman is now, and I can't go lol. good job

Honesty I believe there is truth in this for all to see.A man wants a wife that he can trust wont sell her soul and sexuality to the highest bidder. The most endearing thing I find in a woman is loving devotion to her husband or boyfriend. i can't say I ever wanted a woman who spoke badly of her mate. An interesting foray into the mind of a woman.

Thank you. A lot of women don't realize the value we should have of ourselves. :)

I chuckled when I reached the end... and a lil in the middle too - truth be told... and maybe - maybe just a bit through the last half. But in seriousness, you spoke well. I sensed few stumbles as I read it aloud and the content kept its 'flavor'.

Yea I agree
This is dope. I picked up a lot of imagery. It was really straight forward
Which is something that I Love. I Also enjoyed the bluntness and the rawness if it all.

Dominique! Preach it, girl! I love, love this on so many levels. I see young woman at my son's college behaving in ways that could be called less than ladylike. This disturbs me. What is even more disturbing is seeing woman my age do these kinds of things out in public. Blaming it on alcohol is not cute when you are 40 something.. I have been married for 20 years (in Oct) I am a perfect lady out in the streets. As for the sheets...well, you read my poem, 'Stiletto.' 'Nough said. Angi~

i gotta tell you....women are objectified too often in today's world and some men show no respect. but a woman must have self respect and be a dignified lady in public to attract a decent man. when you are in private, well, that depends on your comfort zone and your relationship but ,,,no offense intended, i am old school (very) but the perfect woman in my day was .....a gourmet chef in the kitchen, a perfect hostess in the living room and a total wildcat in the bedroom. there is no such thing as a perfect man...we are too terribly flawed to achieve such heights...but some of us really do deserve praise for our efforts. i love, love, love...this write!

Yea and knowing allows the respect level to become higher. I am hoping it doesn't get worse.
