Masterpiece

A Poem by Dominique Lambright
"

What the world used to be...

"
Masterpiece

Masterpieces take time I was told
That's why nature keeps evolving
The constant beauty that it can behold
As the world keeps revolving

Air washing over your face
Grass moving through your bare toes
Moving at its own pace
Watching the ocean as it flows

Imagining what was intended to be peaceful
Countless natural disasters recreating
The balance at which was blissful
Man only procrastinating

With the initiated action taking
Of releasing the earth to its natural state
Only to depleate the peace making
And turn it into a battle of the state

What is the point of taking the earth hostage?
Something that helps us survive
Why must we be stingy and only send bits in a letter and postage
When we can help instead revive

Masterpieces take time I was told
And one day this earth will be one again
If we can find a way to mold
And take advantage of the apirations and dreams that surround us with a gain
