Londra (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

Hope you like it :)

"
Rossi autobus londinesi
Come infantili note
Producono la nostalgica
Fragranza che m'inebria.

Seguo fino all'orizzonte
Il connubio di tetti vittoriani
Che sposano le moderne strade
In una nordica comunione.

Mi fermo a pensare, sentire
Il battito della nobile città
Solo per accorgermi che
Non mi e mai stata sconosciuta.

TRANSLATION: London.

Red London buses
Like childish notes
Produce the nostalgic
Fragrance that inebriates me.

I follow 'till the horizon
The union of victorian-style roofs
That marries the modern streets
In a nordic communion.

I stop to think, to feel
The heartbeat of the noble city
Just to realize that to me
She's never been unknown.

Author's Note

外人 (Gaijin)
This is a poem about the city in which I have the priviledge to be living in (the second about it, the first since I moved, going to publish the other one I wrote soon), London. I believe few things in life can be as beautiful and as unique as this marvelous city and I really hope to have captured at least a glimpse of its perfection in this poem.

lovely. it always impresses me when a soul can write in multiple languages - while I don't speak Italian, I took both Spanish and Latin in school so I read the first out loud just to hear the beauty in the sounds, then read the translation for understanding.

Nice description of London. You have described a big city with very few words and let nothing worthy of note outside.

Always been and always will be :)
This is beautiful, the way you describe the city and how it comes to life through your words. It is and always will be one of the most well known cities in the world and yet your description of it and what it means to you splashes on me something new about London and its old fashioned beauty.
