Rio de Janeiro (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

Hope you like it :)

"
Rio de Janeiro, cidade
Que deslumbra-me
No infinito de tuas praias,
No encanto da batucada,
Na beleza de tuas filhas.

Antes eterno solteiro
Do que largar-te,
Luz dos meus olhos,
Vida da minha alma,
Batida do meu coracao.

Antes qualquer desprazer
Do que viver o que mais temo:
Ver-te escapar do meu horizonte,
Falta-me o ar so em imaginar.

Chamo Deus em testemunho
Da doce promesa que grita
Cada fibra do meu corpo carioca:
A ti voltarei, como um filho
Volta vitorioso a sua mae.

TRANSLATION: Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, city
That leaves me speechless
In the infinite of your beaches,
In the charm of your rhythm,
In the beauty of your daughters.

I'd rather be single forever
Than leaving you,
Light of my eyes,
Life of my soul,
Beat of my heart.

I'd rather face any displeasure
Than living what I fear the most:
Seeing you escape from my horizon,
I stay breathless just imagining it.

I call God as a witness
Of the sweet promise shouted
By every fibre of my carioca body:
To you I will return, as a son
Gloriously returns to his mother.

Beautiful description for the old city. Home is the place we feel the most comfort and safe. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
