Sehnsucht (translation below)

Sehnsucht (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)

Rosas rubras de intensa atracao,
Rosas brancas de pura paixao,
Em ricos buques compraria
Pela a amada que tanto esperei.

E mil sonetos, odes e liricas por ela
Composeria de aberto coracao,
Amenos versos a sua sublime beleza
Dedicaria, meu amor assim cantaria.

Num forte abraco a prenderia
E muitos beijos lhe daria,
Nunca lhe deixaria duvidar
Que so o seu olhar desejo.

Mas ela nao existe e nao existera,
As rosas juntas a mim morreram,
Nao um poema de paixao escriverei,
E meus abracos hao de congelar-se
Na sua fria absencia.

TRANSLATION

Red roses of deep attraction,
White roses of pure love,
In rich bouquets I would buy
For the lover I have waited for so much time.

And one thousand sonnets, odes and lyrics for her
I would write with open heart,
Beautiful verses to her sublime beauty
I would dedicate, my love that way I would sing.

In a strong hug I would trap her
And many kisses I would give her,
Never I would let her doubt
That only her look I long.

But she doesn't exist nor she will,
Roses with me will die,
Not a single love poem I will write,
And my hugs shall freeze
In her cold absence.

Author's Note

外人 (Gaijin)
A poem I wrote a month ago (more or less), still, it makes a lot of sense now that I am in love again.
The title is an obvious borrowing from the romantic lexicon and it happens to be one of the very few words I know in German, it literally means "mania of desiring" (Germans are smart !).
The poem was originally written in Portuguese

First of all I must say that I have missed you!! What is up with you? I hope you are doing well. Now that is out of the way. This poem is so awesome. I wish I the first part of this poem would happen to me. Kind of a sad ending but still a great poem either way :)

The poem is beautiful. I liked the poem in two languages. The poem embraced the emotion of love and left the reader with a sad ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

As ever, impressed by your talent. Sehnsucht is indeed a great word, perhaps best translated as nostalgia,
or wanting to see again,or see-addiction ! The poem is great, impressive with clarity.
