Ansia da interrogazione (translation below)

Ansia da interrogazione (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

This is what tests are really like (student's perspective)

"
Ansia da interrogazione:
Un disagio esistenziale,
Un fatale naufragio
Fra le ostili pagine
Di libri velenosi.
Sprofondano nel vuoto,
Nelle fosse oceaniche,
L'ottimismo, il sonno,
La calma dei sensi.
TRANSLATION: Anxiety before a test*
Anxiety before a test:
An existential discomfort,
A fated shipwreck
Among the enemy pages
Of poisonous books.
Optimism, sleep,
The peace of the senses,
Collapse in the emptiness,
In ocean trenches.

*Interrogazione = Since I've heard they exist only in Italian schools, let me explain what they mean: Sometimes teachers pick some random students and ask them questions about what has been taught during the schoolyear, if they answer properly they get a good mark, if they don't they get a bad one. That's an "Interrogazione", basically an oral version of written tests.

I like this. I know that some teachers at our school do oral tests but it isn't anything that difficult. My Spanish teacher did oral tests to evaluate our pronunciation and knowledge of culture and etc. I am shy and I hate when a teacher calls me when I am caught offguard and look silly when I respond. I get scared to answer. I am often afraid that I am wrong or something. Awesome write. :) thank you for sharing such an interesting piece.

Beautiful reading it in both languages makes it seem profound and the matter so relatable. I can fathom the feeling of this piece as it is a piece of the puzzle that comprises my life.

I like the above lines. I like the way you allow the reader to see the original language. Always a pleasure to read your excellent poetry.

Life in general can feel like a shipwreck sometimes, and the fragility of optimism is all we have to depend on, in hopes that we can keep it together as well as possible. Great piece, I related to this one very much :)

You have made a intriguing narrative out of that feeling of doubt and fear we all fear before any typebof important exam. Great job!
