La trompeuse de soi-meme (translation below)

La trompeuse de soi-meme (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)

Pourquoi tu mets en scene cet artifice?
Pour quelle raison, pour quelle malice
tu trompes toi-meme,
ton meme esprit?
Quel orgueil te vient de cette honte incroyable?
Aucune raison, tu écoutes, bien que formidable.
Vis ton confortable artifice, allez!
Moque-toi de notre universal verité.
Ces verses, je sais, sont fort inutile,
tes yeux jamais ne les pourront lire.
TRANSLATION: The deceiver of herself
Why do you put into scene such an artifice (lie)?
For which reason, for which mischief
you mislead yourself,
your own soul?
What pride do you get from this unbelievable shame?
No reason, you listen, not even the greatest ones.
Live your comfortable artifice (lie), go ahead!
Play fool on our universal truth.
These verses, I know, are quite useless,
your eyes will never be able to read them.

Author's Note

外人 (Gaijin)
Based on a recent experience, some people just want to mislead themselves. The one that inspired me this, has a great influence in my life and I cannot speak right to her but I had to get off my chest, so I put it into verses.

Poetry is great for things like that, I hope this person regurgitates the lies she has fed herself. Great poem.

From your author's note, a good way to get something off your chest and out of your mind/heart is to write it.
Nice write, enjoyed this part here at the end:
"These verses, I know, are quite useless,
your eyes will never be able to read them."

this is called denial. they won't admit the truth about themselves or something else. i find that those who are in denial are hypocrites. it;s good you found inspiration on this subject.
