Minha infancia brasileira (translation below)

Minha infancia brasileira (translation below)

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

Just turn 18 and I'm feeling kinda nostalgic towards my childhood, especially the part of it I spent in Brazil

"
O feliz infancia que passei
soltando pipa na rua de casa, catando
as que caiam no quintal, nunca pensei
que tudo isto hoje tanto estaria me faltando.
Poucos trocados compravam minha alegria:
Uma bala, um chiclete, um doce qualquer
p'ra loja do tio Beto sorrindo eu ia
ja saboriando os doces que ia escolher.
Cresci escutando as musicas de Sandy e Junior,
doces melodias que ensinam nossa alma a amar,
nao certo funk ou musica ainda pior !
Musicas hoje ensinam as crianças somente a xingar !
Quanto era facil a vida na minha infancia !
um simples pedido "quer ser meu amigo?", tudo resolvia.

Title: My Brazilian childhood
O happy childhood I spent
flying kites in my home street, collecting
the ones fallen in my backyard, I've never thought
I'd miss all of these so much nowadays.
A few change used to buy my happiness,
a candy, a buble gum or any other sweet-stuff,
to uncle Beto's shop I used to go smiling,
already imagining the candies I was going to buy.
I was raised listening to Sandy and Junior's songs,
sweet melodies that teach our souls to love,
not funk* nor any worst music !
Music nowadays teaches children only to swear !
How easy my life was during my childhood !
a simple question "do you want to be my friend?" everything solved.
Funk = I'm not talking about the North American one, I have nothing against it ! I'm talking about the brazilian funk which is a very rude kind of music that just like 99.99999999999% of Brazilians, I hate ! Sadly kids are starting to listen to it :(

Author's Note

外人 (Gaijin)
Ok, so ... it's written in Shakespearean sonnet scheme (3 quatrains, 1 couplet: ABABCDCDEFEFGG), hope you liked it :)
I'm seriously paying more attention next time, I'm writing too much in Portuguese :( That's unfair towards Italian and English !! Next 5 poems will be written in a language different from Portuguese !!

I do like how in your Author's Note you like to use Shakespearean schemes, as well as different languages. As for the poem, it brought back some memories of my own childhood to me. I could agree about the music, and the way that there is music that can tell a story in lyrics without foul language such as the opposite that does use foul language. I really like the last line:
"a simple question "do you want to be my friend?" everything solved."

brazilian funk sounds like bad rap music
this piece has s subtle flow that you have to slow down to appreciate
like a breeze you shouldn't fight with

oh, i found this so entertaining. i love the nuances of childhood memories and the references to modern "music" as profane and gutteral! right on point!

Le parisien is an excellent poet, I really admire his fluency in so many languages. Apart from English I just speak passable German and some fragments of awful French.
Anyway, a fine poem. ( I like Funk, especially from the 70s and 80s, but I understand you are talking about something special from Brazil, which I`ve never heard)

A pleasant nostalgic poem, which most readers can identify with!
Life indeed was so simple in the playground - with the benefit of hindsight of course :)

I have to admit I love and completely agree with you. I have to admit I am a fan of the american funk because its usually just fun and you can't help but dance but a lot of the music these days for kids is garbage and has no meaning and is over sexualized and full of swear words as well
