Riddle M

Riddle M

A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

Opinions and answers are welcome :)

"
I live in young-at-heart
people get rid of me while growing,
why they do so is such a riddle;
let me help you with this guessing:
I'm the most underestimated virtue,
but so helpful and loyal I can be to
the ones that trust me and blindly
let me lead you to happiness that secretly
stands in the smallest negligible thing,
I cure the injuries on your skin,
of the pain you once felt, I make you forget.
In this world of monsters, I'm here to protect
you, I'm the shield and sword a few see,
I guide these ones to the horizon over the sea,
to the rings of Saturn, to the moon and back.
Sometimes I sweeten the truth, of imagination I don't lack,
I do it for my friends,
because reality may be too hard for them,
The one writing this riddle is a friend of mine,
without me, he can't survive,
I've helped him in the darkest periods of his life,
he's now so loyal to me as a man to his wife.
Since I think too much I've said,
I'll end this poem in the middle of saying ...

Author's Note

外人 (Gaijin)
Ok, there are 2 enjambements, "people" (2nd line) and "let me lead" (8th line), that means that according to if you read it linked to the verse where they are or to the verse that came before, you'll get two different meanings (that was made on purpose!),
for example "people", you can read "I live in young-at-heart people" or "people get rid of me", to make the poem works you should try to read both meanings at the same time ;)
For the record, now I'm getting more ... "personal", I really care about the thing I've described here.
The answer is ... Innocence.

Well I had no idea of it being innocence. I like this, and this last part:

lol...I'm so dumb...Had no idea it was innocence. I'm not very good at riddles. I liked your words and phrasing here. It flowed and was easy to read and interesting. Well done. Many people can so no virtue in innocence or how it can lead to happiness.

Hmm .. I was guessing "Memories" and then "God/Lord" perhaps and then may be"Belief" and then finally to "astrology and lastly "love" .. dunno if either is correct. LOL.
Its an awesome riddle. Great stuff :))
