The Castle Entranoble

another very interesting book idea.

Venulus Kor is a professional street rat, and there’s no place he can’t steal from. He performs his thrilling, adventurous practice in order to support his father who has fallen deathly ill.

On an average Thursday morning, Venulus and his sick father discover that Venulus’ Uncle Pasillus has died and left the both of them his Castle Entranoble and his fortune. But before Venulus can respond, his father is kidnapped and he has no choice but to accept his inheritance �" the enormous castle full of mechanical revolving doors, moving floors and unstable staircases, not to mention the outrageous stash of money inside.

            By day, Venulus does his best to blend in with the cream of society while searching for his missing father by night. However, his search becomes drastically more risky and urgent once he meets Mortimer Kult, a man who had caught Venulus stealing from his luxurious mansion many years ago. A crafty man, Mortimer immediately recognizes Venulus and explains to him that he was the one who kidnapped his father with the intention of black mailing Pasillus, but now that Venulus occupies his castle, the young boy is more than suitable. Mortimer sends Venulus on an enormous hunt to find his own treasure, but Venulus will find more than gold within the dark depths of the Castle Entranoble.

Mm, I feel as though I've heard it somewhere before. If not setting, then the storyline. As long as you put it all together nicely, this should be interesting. It doesn't matter if you think the idea's been somewhere else-- (within reason, obviously) it all depends on how you go about it. I certainly think this story can be well written.

I like this one the best. The castle layout alone would make for an interesting story. Seems like it would lend itself to a good mix of action, comedy, and fantasy. Not overly dark, but not complete unicorn fodder either.
