24 year-old Willis Paneral had always envisioned himself living somewhere with lots of green, and when he finally succeeds in writing a book about a fictional world called Talferra"a world his grandfather talked about in his bedtime stories"he makes enough money to board a plane to Dublin, Ireland, and then to a small town on the far edge of the country. There, Willis buys a house: an enormous, yet rundown shack on the top of a lonely hill. Willis’ first inclination that an error has occurred in his grand scheme comes when the real-estate agent seems all too happy when the sale is made, and no information of the previous owner is in the records. Still, Willis continues to live, contently, in the house, journeying to the town not too far away for food, while he works on his next book and enjoys the lush green scenery. One day, though, Willis discovers the blue prints to the house, and with them, a room that no door leads to. When he finds the room"Willis stumbles upon a strange box, one with intricate silver designs. Once opened, Willis accidently lets loose a strange force, and discovers that the world of Talferra is more than just a bedtime story.
