Trapped

Trapped

A Story by Domenic Luciani

I am stuck here. There is no better way to put it.  The days go by slowly. And every minute feels like a lifetime. With no connection to anywhere outside these walls, I am forced to communicate with the family. I need to go home. No, I need to escape. This world is not for me. By and by I see myself getting older and I realize with more and more pain that I cannot willingly leave. God has blessed me with the talent to think beyond normal human capacity. He however, did not bless me with a field in which to utilize this talent. Someday, I wish to leave this place behind to start a new life far away. I hang on only by the thread of the thought that maybe there is life after death and in there lies my dream. Unfortunately, my future in this world dooms me to a tortured life of sitting behind a desk until the end of my days when everything I so long for is just out of reach. If god truly exists, then let him hear my plea. Take me away to a world that I can run free in, a world that allows me to escape reality and its chains that bind me to this one. A world where I may find everything I seek.

This is really good. I actually felt your own feelings. Btw, I feel the same way, "trapped". Good job.

Nice short statement of the afterlife. Kind of a prose poem style.
