Break up ghost

It’s been a year that we’ve been apart

I don’t know why, but you’re still in my thoughts

You’re not worth the pain and you’re not worth my time

So why do your memories keep replaying in my mind?

 

The day we met, I thought my future was paved

Straight to the alter with me taking your last name

I thought I could trust you

Did everything for you

Not a day went by where I wasn’t grateful for you

You told me you would marry me

Looked me straight in the eyes

A broken promise is what you planted in my mind

 

I try to stay strong but the past is still present.

In my mind every day, I just don’t get it

There was no closure, I’m still unsure why

I’ll never know what changed

And ill never know why

Perhaps that’s why

It’s been all this time

You’re still in my mind
