Heart Of Youth

Heart Of Youth

A Poem by Brittany

An unexpected hit can cause you to hurt...
But it doesn't make love all go down with the blood...
Sand can't bury the meaningful places when you know it will always be there...
Karma come backs to bite you when you pretend not to care..
Things seem to become clear when loving touches turn to intense stares..
Sometimes when you're being stubborn you forget to remember the truth...
Different thoughts separate the adult and youth...
Calls are not answered and excuses are made...
Good times slowly fade...
And recalling the memories seem to be too bitersweet...

Heated tears become a time to meet your heart...
But you judge your own emotions...
In times of need you don't reach out enough for peace...
Anger flares up all in your face and you forget what it means to hold on...
You let go, leave her, but she's not the only one...
With arms crossed, hearts protected, all hell soars up in the break of words..
"I hate you..."
But all you can say is you've done nothing wrong...
Escaping back to your boyfriend, yeah, that's where you belong...
Not in this world where society makes you believe a daughter needs their mom...
Abandoning her like a toy is what will really make the hurt gone..

The easiest desicions becomes the quickest moves to not face the rest of the pain...
But both are what should be to blame..
The past, the future, and present shouldn't be involved...
Just the way their heart is breaking....
That's what's increasing the hell and stopping the connection...
You only see the bad she's passed onto your your reflection...
You don't see the smiles that have been created or the beauty that once was..
You're too surprised she's screaming and giving you more than the reply,"Just because.."
But you still can't believe it, you still need more proof...
You want a better reason and you're forgetting it's youth...

All you can hear is your own cry from the last commotion of doom...
You never think of her lovingly inside or outside of the boom...
But if you did...what would fill the room?
So much is meant to be held closer to the heart...
But everything is held at arm's length, always falling a part...
The only thing that goes in deep is a mean, shocking gesture ...
Both of you take turns to give out a lecture...
The wise conscience is ignored as all hopeful echos fall behind...
You thought you already uncovered everything you needed to find..
Yet both of you were deceived, none of you were right...
You weren't focusing on the beauty of love, you were focusing on the hate of the fight...
How you slept at night....
I will never know.

Long, harsh days always seem to come upon us...
People clash from risky points of view...
But all things would be different if you knew how to love on cue....
