I Never Knew Your Love

I Never Knew Your Love

A Poem by Brittany

I never knew everything could hit me so fast but then fall so slow..
I never knew that there was a time to wait for love and to let it all go..
I never knew your beautiful face was going to be the picture framed over my heart..

In an instant you flourished my soul and mind..
Enchanting me with words that showed me feelings i've been needing to find..
I was so caught up in all the adrenaline I got from just seeing your name..
I forgot that I couldn't look back to yesterday because i'm not the same..
You've changed me, and given meaning back to my dream..

Your eyes are full of wonderful fantasies where I can see myself in you..
I can visualize all the things we could be with your arms placed softly around my waist..
Whispering into my ear the way true love should really be at a tender, giving pace

With patience and pride, and wants all around our hearts every night..
We must cherish the build up before our hearts melt into the beaming light..
No such passion can be drawn from love until you know how true it is..

So before we can give in, before we can touch and feel...
We must search throughout the time we waited and capture all the desires that were real..
And it may be scattered or it may be all trapped in one place..
But either way there's been beauty and love that's been shed from your soft face..
