So Cold In Wanting Love

I wrote this poem based on something I wanted, but was too scared to take it deep enough in my heart to have it.

 

So cold in wanting love..
Running away while trying to move closer..
Scared by the feelings that are set before me, not knowing what they should mean
Beginning to become captured by the undeniable truth
I'm wise in the heart but this is youth..
I can't love somebody until they love me back..

 

So distant from something that's roaming around in my space..
He's holding my shy but beautiful face..
I stand shaking beneath soft stars in the night..
I'm crying, not knowing how to hold on tight
I jump around, spin around, because I know i'm falling hard

Nothing makes sense when you're stuck in the same step..
I can't turn around but I can't understand the love that's been kept..

So confused in the thing that brings the most love to my heart
I'm turning my head away, closing my eyes in fear..
My hands are covering up every part that's hiding what I want
Farther, closer, farther, I can't think of which way to go..
I'm holding onto this one person who seems to know I'll never be that lost and i'll never let go..
