Learn to get alongA Poem by Annabelle LeeWhen he looks at me I see the whole world in his eyes And I can do anything His big baby blues I wonder sometimes How it is I'm still breathing He was so small His hands were so weak Now he's playing ball And just a head shorter than me As a sister i'm a lot of things A tyrant, a hero, a know it all, and role model As a brother he's so much more He's the reason I can keep my feelings in a bottle He's the reason I get up in the morning He's the reason I stay strong when I'm weak He's the reason I try so hard He looks up to me He's the reason I changed my crazy ways He's the reason we will be okay He is the reason that we haven't collapsed Sometimes I think He's all i have He's the reason we got out He's the reason that I write it out Sometimes i'm overprotective And sometimes I belittle him he's growing up so fast I can see the end I don't mean to put him down And it hurts me when I do he's the reason i want to know you will you be like him will you look up to me will you hop into my lap and call me sissy I wonder about you And I hope when you're older you know this had nothing to do with me or your brother This isn't our fight to fight We just have to stay strong And hope that the big kids Learn to get along
