Where I reside alone

Sir, you musn't stay long
Because I am very busy

If I could keep you here, I would
I would love for you to stay
But I just haven't enough room
So I have to send you away
The attic is dusty and full
Of old albums and broken toys
The basement is unfinished
Not quite ready for boys
The spare room has been changed
Into my office these days
Where I spend most all my time
Where i read, where I write
I'd like you to revisit
Would you please come back soon?
Because sooner or later

i appreciate the generous invitation and will welcome the raincheck for that revisit for a longer stay, preferably forever! i freekin' love this write! i don't often get stoked by romance poetry, even though i write a hell of a lot of it, because it is almost always predictable...however, this is brilliant! can i make an early reservation?

This is really lovely. I loved the whispered cadence you've created here! I would suggest an addition of one word to help with the rhythm- I know this is wrong - I would add "I know that this is wrong."
