Inside Me Is A Girl

Not my best. but enjoy

Inside me is a girl
Scared and all alone
And whenever someone knocks,
She cries, "Nobody's home"
She's a very little girl
Seen more than she should have to
Inside me is a girl
Who's not ready to remember what she's been through
Sometimes she gets the courage
Sometimes she wants to come out
So she leaps up and hurries
And escapes through my mouth
Inside me is a girl
Who longs to be herself
But afraid of who she is
She hides from everyone else
Eventually she'll grow
Be the person she should be
But till then she will hide
Yes, I will hide inside of me.

Nice job Annabelle. I like these poems where you explore your true feelings the best. This is so relateble to many people, we all feel like we have to hide the real person and our true feelings from time to time. It's nice to have the outlet of writing poetry so that we can express all that we cannot say out loud.
