Fair grounds in DecemberA Poem by Annabelle Lee
Have you ever taken a walk
Through the fair gounds in December? Seen snow on the ferris wheel And the whole place is barren The carousel not turning Children not screaming and running With sticky fingers And sticky faces No ring toss, no PLINKO The round up won't spin It's a sad sad sight No games to win The train's been lockd up, The tracks a nightmare zone Remembr hard enough and you may see What the fair looks like when it's living You'll see young couples, holding hands Little kids lined up at the cotton candy stand The whole place alive and aglow But when the magic is gone I don't want to go
