My Best FriendA Poem by Annabelle Lee
I could write her a thousand poems
Buy her a thousand gifts Sing her a thousand songs And grant her every wish But I'm not good with words I have nothing to spend My voice will hurt you And my magic is dead I will try to give As much as I get And I only wish To repay this debt She's my best friend Times ten To the power of pancake Through to the end She is pretty She is smart She has talent She has heart She's the one Who's been at my side She's who's been with me The entire ride All of my other friends Aren't quite like that They'll run off At the drop of a hat I have nothing to give her But still she sticks close And as to why? Nobody knows I'd fill up this page But It still wouldn't work I'd sing her praise Til my throat hurts We'll talk gibberish And act like guys We sit and gossip About other girls' lies People don't understand us But they're just too dumb Cuz It would be real boring To be like everyone We'll laugh at the stupidest things That's what we do You laugh at me I laugh with you We'll call each other Prejudiced names But Its okay Cuz it don't mean the same Hmmmm.... I don't quite know How to finish this one But I'd hate to leave A poem undone So I guess I'll just leave But I won't say The End Untill I've truly glorified My Best Friend
