You Were A DucklingA Poem by Annabelle LeeA couple of years ago I went through some metamorphosis, and I am starting to see the same kind of thing in one of my friends.
I know you
I see you I feel your pain I get it Trust me We're the same You were the duckling Pushed away by the others You weren't near as pretty, Or graceful As you mother You didn't know Until just recently You were different Because you're unique And all of a sudden You embody Beauty and Grace You aren't used to your new face But before all the ugly feathers are gone Remember You were a Duckling before the swan
