The Blank Slate

The Blank Slate

A Poem by Dogkeeperno6
"

Whoever said that you can't lie to children must have been a terrible liar.

"

Whoever said that you can't lie to children
must have been a terrible liar.
An adolescent’s optimism

clouds their judgment.

They may hear you crying
See your scarring
Sense your mind's shifting
But you can reassure them.
The ones that believe you
will probably be worse off -
They won't learn to see
the red flags before it’s too late.
