The cars are music to me

City life may not be the greatest

But it sure is close

Austin has more to give than it's buildings

Mt. Bownell, the hightest point, has a beautiful landscape

The city has a beautiful skyline

Perfect in some ways

Smaller than Houston but bigger than El Paso

The famos Frost Bank Tower

The Texas Capital

The biggest in the US 

And the only one made from pure pink marble

It's local parks

It's local park theater

The Kite Fest and Contest

The mayor's mansion

Lake Lady Bird and Lake Austin

The grand One Eighty Bridge

The Texas State University 

It may not seem much but it's close

Close to my heart

Wow. A very nice poem. I love Austin and its music scenes on 6th street . I had great times there when I visited . I like the capitol and the skyline too. This is a great tribute to a great city...Thank you for sharing...:)

All pink! Cool!
When it comes to the Lone Star State, i've only been through Austin twice. Never had a chance to really explore it though. I think my favorite down town skyline in texas at night would have be Dallas. I love Laredo for some reason, even though it gets blink'n hot during the summer. I fell in love with Fredricksburg, Tx though. An awesome town to visit during the christmas time. Houston is to muggy for me and I just get an uneasy feeling driving through it. Which is odd, since as soon as I jump into Louisiana... the feeling goes away. I love Ole El Paso! Spent many days and nights puttering around that town. It always smells like good food to me! lol San Antonio is okay, except for how it's freeways are layed out... Wichita Falls is another city I really like, even though I'm not sure why. It just kinda feels friendly to me.

Never been to Texas, but you sure made the city alive in my mind. Pure pink marble, the kite fest and Lake Lady Bird sound divine. I must remind me dad to keep it on our must visit cities in our next vacation abroad.
