Reverie

Reverie

A Poem by Destiny
"

A love poem

"

I find myself
Daydreaming of her
Seconds turn to minutes
And whatever had my attention
Is lost to the reverie

She steals my breath
When I see her eyes
I'm not sure how healthy it is
For my pulse to stop
When she comes around

But she's the medicine
To my skin hunger,
My loneliness,
My hopelessly romantic heart
That beats wildly for her

The ice fortress in my chest
That rests on my shoulder
Has kept me safe all this time.
It melts under her sunkissed hands
And the steam fogs up
My rose-colored glasses.

I'm entirely blind,
Spellbound in her enchantment

I only say this
Because if I seem to be sleep walking
It's because I am,
And I'm begging you not to wake me.
