Morality

Morality

A Poem by Destiny
"

A reflection on Christianity

"
I never was afraid of hell after earth
I was afraid of hell on earth first
The disappointment in your eyes
Was too much to bare
When you caught even my smallest of lies

Why then was she in my dreams?
Someone I saw night after night in mind streams
An angel who's light caused a glare

I tried to hide from yours
When you saw that I stared

My face betrayed the pink in my cheeks
The quickened pace of my heart
Becomes perceived at high speeds

I can't help but be enraptured in the art
Of my cold hands that hers heats
My old wounds that she treats

I read the command in chapter four
The eighth verse
To think of these things
Virtues that remind me of hers:
Honor in our honesty, not pious falsehood
Justice in her rule, the definition of good
Purity in her tenderness towards me
Lovely, so lovely her gleam

The only proper response is admiration
But you flip to a page full of hate
To tell me, instead, I am an abomination

What the hell do you mean?
Is your intention to take
All that I love and make it a mistake
Because I have something to say

I gave the Bible a chance
To change all my ways
But it couldn't erase
The way the stars dance
When she holds my hands
And touches my face
