Burn

Burn

A Poem by Destiny
"

I hope you don't suffer the same

"
The anger burns
My cheeks, my knuckles, my skin
From the blood boiling
Pumping out from my heart
That has had more than enough
Of this s**t

I've recoiled
I've tasted blood where I bit my tongue
When the sword that you didn't sheeth
Wants to cut into your chest
But I don't
And I won't
I'm better with a shield anyway

Anger is only helpful
Until it's not
The line between holding pain
And inflicting it
Is quite clear
Even when my vision is not
Even when my mind is not
Even when my conscience is not

I have felt this so strong in the past, when we needed the justice system to act swiftly, it failed us, there was never closure and I just wanted to be mad at someone, but it was like punching the wind, all energy spent and fatigued at life. Very good poem.
