Jay

Jay

A Poem by Destiny
"

A poem about lost love

"
The humor isn't lost on me
That your bird is blue
& every time I see it in the pines
My breath fogs up the ether
When the wind is knocked out of me
And I'm reminded
That even as the grass is soft with down
And daffodils entice the hummingbirds
My heart is the dead of winter.
The color that is the Steller's
Is as cold as your silence
The biting wind never hurts less
But the Jay is unphased
I wish her nothing but the best
While her winter turns to spring and summer
Mine stays fixed in the North
No warmth from the sun on the horizon
Because I don't have wings to fly south
But she does.
