Domestication

Domestication

A Poem by Destiny
"

Feral by nature

"

The denim I was given were stained green from the grass
The shoes I lost housed more than one mouse
The shorts I stored had pockets of blue bonnet

You told me to vacuum
where the twigs fell from my hair
You told me to mop up
the mud I tracked in
You told me to scrub
The pollen out of my pours

But you see, my eyes are hazel
Like the green from the leaves
and brown from the seeds

My skin is the color of sand
Where the plovers scuttle around
And the clams burrow underground

Why then, do you think
I have piles and clutter and jumbles of stuff?
My dishes grow fungus and fuzzes?

It is as plain as day to see
Sophistication was made
To raze creatures like me
