Never leaveA Poem by Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot
I walk out the door to see your pretty face
You stand there sobbing I sit on the porch swing and my head hangs low All you do is walk the front porch in a pace I walk in the house and see a jar of pickled grenades on the table Next thing I know I'm in a car chase with the Fratteli's I walk through the police station and get shot in the arm Now I'm back home and your even more unstable I walk over to kiss you on the cheek But you just push me away with a jolt You fall right before my eyes, and I start to cry I fall to my knees, feeling too weak The tears roll down my shirt sleeve As I try to revive you the best I can You say you love me with your strongest breath The rest of my life is just bleak, never leave
