Never Really Alone

Never Really Alone

A Poem by CT
"

Running... running... running through these endless, bleak halls... based around the character Ratman from the game series Portal.

"
Wandering this pernicious path,
These winding, bleak and endless halls,
Her cold, unfeeling, icy wrath;
Running, running from Death's black call.
"Who's there?" they ask, and I doth scream.
My sweet reward is but a lie-
But nothing here is what it seems
Beneath her chill omniscient eye.
In the iron grip of hellish science
The Reaper took the cube away
Her toneless voice preaching compliance
Within this world of endless grey.
Caught deep within this grim nightmare-
A rat trap'd in a twisted snare.

Beautiful, mate. Never thought I'd really encounter some legit poetry about Portal, but this is excellent. I like the "hellish science" line the most. Good on ya for making literary art from a video game; that needs to happen more often in life.
