O'Hare

O'Hare

A Poem by K. Gray
"

Written while sitting in O'Hare, waiting for my plane back to LAX.

"

All the same

People coming

People going

Deciding what to eat is the hardest

“Keep watch of your bags at all times”

Do they know how hard it is to balance

a wallet on top of a book

on top of coffee while

trying to pay with

a card 'cause

you forgot

to get

cash?

They should hire bag watchers.

Sitting there for hours

'cause you want to make sure you

“get there early!”

Only to find the security line short

and I think I forgot my book.

Looking out at the tarmac

Are planes supposed to do that?

Nerves flare up

breath shortens

Did I just see a Kardashian?

All the same

People coming

People going

At least I'll have SkyMall.
