Little Noses

Little Noses

A Poem by K. Gray
"

This came from watching the dogs at my boyfriend's house press their noses to the glass window while watching the UPS guy.

"

Little noses pressed against the window

they eagerly wait, fogging up the glass like

San Francisco in the summer.

They wait, ever patient but anxious,

feet prancing back and forth,

betraying the calm in their faces

He's coming home! Finally, finally.

What's it been? Five minutes? An hour? A day?

He was out of sight, that's what mattered.

Now he's back, smiling as always

Bag in his hand, it looks heavy

Maybe it's a treat, just for them.
