Chapter Sixteen: Once Upon A Moon

Chapter Sixteen: Once Upon A Moon

A Chapter by Some Random Person.

A week ago, I was stolen from my bedside. Now, I'm imprisoned. Perfect trip. I don't even know where I am. Well, besides the fact that we're near a set of train tracks. Did I mention that Aisha's with me?
The door opened to the room with my cage in it. A girl appeared with a scarf over her head. Some one shoved her in. As she fell to the ground, I looked into her eyes. "Aisha?" I asked.

"Who wants to know?" She asked.

"Don't tell me they kidnapped you too," I said.

"Do I know you?" She asked.

I scoffed, but afraid that she really didn't know me. "Yeah, Don't tell me that they wiped your mind as well."

"Yeah, Who are you?" She asked.

"More importantly, why can't you remember me?" I asked.

"Sorry, I have short term memory loss. So tell me, now, who you are, or I'm going to scream. Why did you kidnap me?" Damn, She never acted like she had short term memory loss before now.

"Oh, that explains a lot. Actually, I'm Elijah. Elijah Hawks. Remember now?" I asked.

"No," She said, "Why did you kidnap me?"

"For God's sake, I DID NOT KIDNAP YOU!" I screamed.

Aisha came closer to me, and whispered, "Shut up, Eli. I know.  I'm acting, alright? Just play along, hot-head Elijah."

I shuddered remembering that night. Now she's in the cage with me, and it's the full moon. Not a good place to be. I'm able to turn when I want, and keep it out of trouble, but on every night except the full moon. The full moon is when I'm not in control. I won't be able to stop myself from anything. I feared for Aisha's life. I feared for mine as well. If I bit her, Lizzie will surely tear me to pieces.
"Aisha," I said to the girl sitting on the bottom of the cage, "Get out of here. Now."
"Do I look like I can get out?" She asked.
I thought for a brief second. "No," I admitted, "But I've read books on Light-travel. You've shadow-traveled before, but only people who are not creatures of the darkness can light-travel. It's basically the oposite of  Shadow-travel, where only creatures of the dark can Shadow-travel." I explained.
Aisha scoffed. "You- reading a book?" She asked, "Who are you, and what have you done with my best friend's friend?"
I smirked. "Shut up, Aisha."
"You know what I always say to that, 'Lijah," Aisha said.
"Yeah-" I said, but catching myself, "Don't start, please, just don't."
"Alrighty then. Where is Elizabeth? Surely she noticed that we were missing already," Aisha said.
"Yeah, you're not helping, Aisha," I told her, even though I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Yeah, I thought half to myself, half to Elizabeth, Where the hell are you?

I closed my eyes, consentrating on Elizabeth. Suddenly, I saw her walking by a Colorado River. I rushed my spirit self over to her and whispered in her ear, "Help, Elizabeth! They've got both of us."
"I know that, Elijah. It would help if you would tell me where you are." I gasped. She could hear me?
"I don't know. Somewhere around train tracks," I told her.
"Gertinald's so stupid sometimes. Where is Aisha, Elijah?" She asked, then turned to look at me. "Elijah, is that really you?" She asked.
"Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be me?" I asked her.
"If it's you, then answer me this," she said, and I knew we were going to have to identify ourselves. "What is my full name?"
She never really told me her full name, but she told me this: "Lizzie-Tabitha-Ruby-Tigereye-Tiberius." I replied.
"How old am I?" She asked.
"100 years of celebration." Her great grand mother was turning 100 years old this year, so every year, that answer was her great grand mother's age.
"What year?"
"1912-2011." I replied. The years of her great grand mother- birth to current year, or if/when she dies.
She smiled. "Alrighty then. You are Elijah. You want to know why I didn't really believe it was you? Because Gertinald kidnapped you, and made a copy of you and I rescued the copy. Did the same with Aisha." She replied.
I looked down to my cloud. "So have you thought any more about it?" I asked, changing the subject.
She smiled, and I thought she was going to answer, but instead, she said, "You'll see when I see the real you. Not the Gertinald-Elijah, or the Ghost-Elijah."
I sighed, smiling a bit. She had thought about it. I cleared my throat. "Can you please find us now?" I asked.
She sighed. "I'm trying. It'd help if you knew where you were," She  replied.
"It's the full moon tonight," I told her.
"You think I don't know that?" She asked, irritated that I said the obvious.
"No, but you should know-" I started, but she finished,
"That you lose your control on the Full Moon, yeah, I know that," She said.
"Yeah, no, it's not just that-" Again, she interrupted me.
"She's in a cage or a room with you, yeah, I know that as well," She replied.
I scoffed, "Is there anything you don't know?" I asked her.
She thought about it for a second, "Yeah- Where you are."
I sighed, "Do you always have to be a big pain in the a*s?" I asked. Someone was shaking me. "Hey-Lizzie, I gotta go. Aisha's shaking me for some reason. Help us!"
I opened my eyes to see that we had company.
