FHJ Chapter One School-Life

FHJ Chapter One School-Life

A Chapter by Some Random Person.

In a funny way, first grade was actually one good year. Well, first through third, anyways. Those were the times. I went to a private school then. I remember the school well. buildings as yellow as a banana, made of metal. The older kids took care of the gardens in the school yard. The teachers were wonderful then, but I don't remember much about them, just that they were wonderful. There were two buildings that the grades were in. The playground was all sand, with little patches of grass around the place.  There was a swing set, a petting zoo filled with animals, and two sand boxes. There was even a slide area. Then there was another building, that was the science lab, and there was a basketball court, where we had our P.E. classes everyday. Behind the court was another building for the little babies. Next to the baby cage, as we called it, was a three laned swimming pool that I always drempt I could go swim in.  Behind the pool and baby building was a large field of grass filled with horses and hay bales. There were a couple of stables at the edge of the fields. I took a few riding classes in that field. Fun times... Anyways, time to drive my car away from Memory Lane, and back into the story.

I went to Redd School until third grade. I had a fun time there. I mean, yeah, there were problems there, but not as many, or as bad, as my other schools. In third grade, my best friend at the time, Emmalie, moved away from me to a city called Trenton, New Jersey. We kept in touch for a year, then slowly stopped calling eachother.

Meanwhile, I went to public school. I went to Middlestabt Elementary, where I met my friend Paige, a bigger girl who was the nicest person you'd ever meet. Especially at that age. She was my friend for a couple years, even after I left her behind at Middlestabt.

Middlestabt Elementary was your usual large one-story red brick building with no walls in between classes. Instead of walls, you would see book cases stretching to almost a foot beneith the cealing. You could still hear classes two class rooms away from you. It was never quiet, and even if we were taking the TAKS test, we would still be noisy. You could hear a pen drop in the next class, but also hear scribbles of several pens and pencils in all seven of the fourth grade classes. Let's just say that it wasn't the best school I went to. No, it was actually the worst school I went to. The start of my bitterness.
