Is she happy yet? I thought to myself, but when I looked at her face, it read no. She was obviously lost in thought, because a car came into my driveway and almost ran her over. I jerked her away just before the car ran over her feet.

“Thanks,” she said, “I didn’t see it coming.” Obviously.

“You didn’t hear it coming?” I asked. Elizabeth had the best hearing in the world.

“As a matter of fact, no,” she replied, “What, Elijah?” She asked at my curious look I sent her.

“What? Oh, nothing, nothing at all, Elizabeth,” I replied. Haylee walked back in. “No, Haylee.”

“What?” Elizabeth and Haylee both asked.

“Never mind,” I replied, but I was certain that Haylee was going to ask it again. We started walking across the street and into my neighbor’s driveway. Another driver pulled up, nearly killing my annoying sister. “What is it with this town and horrible drivers?” I thought aloud, without realizing it until Elizabeth replied:

“Elijah, you should see Houston. It’s the Devil’s town.” Devil’s Town, eh? I see, but isn’t it more like a city?

“Yes,” Elizabeth said as I realized she read my mind, “It’s a city with horrible drivers, horrible crime, etc.” TMI, Lizzie. I don’t need to know some things. Crime, drivers, bad high schools, whatever is next?

We sat for another half an hour or so in the heat when suddenly Elizabeth thought of Popsicles. Yummy; I, of course, ordered blue. I know she hates that I do, but I really want that flavor right now. I LOVE MY BLUE RASPBERRY!

I stayed outside until she came back with my delicious, cold treat. We ate it in silence until I beat her at finishing it, and I also had the most juice.  She always took her time eating everything, including these popsicles. It sometimes bugged me that she did that. “Yummy,” I said to break this annoying silence we were in.

We sat in silence again, so I stole a look at her. She was preoccupied in her thoughts. Should I ask her now, or later? Maybe I should ask her later, because she might be too preoccupied with her thoughts now. Then again, she may just be waiting for me to ask her now.

I know it's short. I'm getting lost for ideas... I have some good (diary) entries that I may use but they would have to wait... A little help, please?

Maybe they find a dead body that's been rotting in the heat all day. Somewhere near town? Nice chapter. I agree with Agent Fafa. Why doesn't he just ask her?
