Chapter One: The Vacuum DisasterA Chapter by Some Random Person.
3It was sundown, and I was getting very sleepy. I was staggering down the brightly painted yellow hallway to put my clothes in the washer for tomorrow. Right as I passed the Utilities closet, something rambled and moved inside it. At first, I didn't notice it, but with every single step I took, the noise grew louder and louder until the whole bright wite door noisily collapsed into a million pieces on the maple hard flooring. What came out was even more terrifying.
Piles of sheets, utilities and cords fell to the ground. There was some motorized sound coming from the closet though, and it was louder than ever. Then I saw bright yellow and red lights coming on in the closet floor. I was too terrified to do anything, gasp for air, run, drop my clothes? Nothing. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move a muscle or a joint. Not one little inch. Not even my eyelid. I couldn't even scream for help. I just stood there and waited, whatever it is that was coming. The lights came more and more larger, the sound of the motor more and more closer. With every past second, I saw it- Whatever it is- coming closer to the opening of where the door previously stood. Then all the sheets were moving back into the closet slowly, as if being sucked up until the floor was now clear of the cloths. Then all of my machines, my utilities, became all bunched up and moved each other. I was so still that I could practically explode if a tornado came, and metaphorically, one did. It moved everything, and I mean everything, when it came out. Even the door moved! what do I mean by "It?" I mean the terribly terrifying vacuum cleaner! Yes, with the red lights, zooming out as fast as it can! It wasn't even plugged into the wall, and yet, it was still moving, zooming out of this closet, humming towards me. Then suddenly, I heard a huge bang outside of my window across the long bright hall. Oh great. My night just got much worse. Not only did I have a raging Evil Vacuum Cleaner in my house, but it was also raining. If I had to run out of the house, I'd run into the rain. It zoomed over the door fragments and heading towards me. I dropped all the laundry in my hands and ran, screaming at the top of my lungs for help. Of course, over the roar of the thunder and rain outside, did anyone hear me? No. Of course not! I ran out the front door, totally forgeting that if I needed to drive away, which I do, I'd need my car keys. I ran out and closed the door. Panting on my wet porch for a second, then ran into the foggy rain. Man, was that pouring rain freezing cold! I saw my car in my rainy driveway and ran straight towards it. Opening the dorr, I remembered that I had my keys on the kitchen countertop in a plate for keys, in a place that I'm not about to enter in a million years. Not even to get my keys, not even to get my clothes. Not ever. So I ditched the car, and started running in the pouring rain-even though I knew it was dangerous-to my friends' houses. When I ran a couple of feet, someone ran into me. I looked down to see my one of my neighbor's kids, Alexia Adams. Alexia was only nine years old, but was very knowledgeable about things that I think she shouldn't be knowledgeable about. She looked up at me and said, "Hi Ms. Williams!" "Hello Alexia. What are you doing out in the rain?" I asked. "Well, it's a long story. Mommy's coming. She'll tell you." Alexia's "Mommy" is Sharrol Adams, who acted, and looked, a lot like Morticia Adams, on the TV show, The Adams Family. Actually, come to think about it, they all acted like the show. Maybe the show was modeled after their parents....? Maybe not... "Hi Morticia, Alexia was saying something happened in the house." I started. I called her Morticia because of the show. She didn't know that those who call her by her given name always joke about it. And that's almost everyone. "Arielle, a lot of scary things happened. And I'd appreciate it if you didn't call me by that name around the kids. Thank you." She started, kind of mad. "Sorry Sharrol. Do you want to know my side?" I asked her, trying to cheer her up a bit. I told her how the vacuum had come alive in the closet and started coming after me. She kind of laughed at me forgetting my keys. "So what's your story?" I finished, asking for her side. "You'd never believe it. Not if I told you. Or anyone." She said to me. "I told you my story, the truth. I doubt that I won't believe yours." i said, trying to confuse her... a little. "Fine, but don't laugh at it." She started, making me even more curious, "The same thing happened to me. Only it wasn't me who found the vacuum. It was Aribella." Aribella was another daughter of the Adams Family. The oldest child too. She was about 14 years old, and, like the normal teenagers, she liked to go to the mall. Only this time, Morticia, oh yeah, sorry, Sharrol, told her no. Yep, the same thing happened to Aribella as me. Or so she says. "It sounds familiar." I replied, shivering a bit. "Did you grab your car keys?" I asked, hoping she'd say yes. "Sorry, but no. They rushed me out of the house before I could grab them." Darn it.
