RedemptionA Poem by Dave "Doc" Rogersby Dave “Doc” Rogers
I sat In survey of all
I had value
Worth
Position
I fell
Seated below everyone else
Least of all
Debunked
Placeless
I did
Making my own way
I labored in vain
To no affect
Resultless
I was
In isolation I existed
No one to dress my wounds
No succor
Alone
I cried
In desperate hope, anguish
A void within crying in hollow
Lost in ether
No echo
Redemptio!
Redemptio!
Pater meus!
Redemptio!
I died
The self ended, despair
The void stretched hopeless
Lost in death
No self
I heard
A voice speaking
In my behalf, reasoning
Cost weighed
Price paid
I lived
A kinsman claimed me
What was lost regained
In full returned
Missing naught
I praised
Ransomed and revalued
Judged and doomed
Counted equal
Redemption
