JadedA Poem by KrishnaWritten for the 'One Word Poem' contest -- the word given, perhaps obviously, was 'jaded.'
Were that I merely a cynical man,
a lack of hope to everything did span, to see the worst in all cases, instead of but certain situations one faces. But, alas, not as such were things meant to be, for it is only when a new patient I see, that all hope for their well being flees my soul, day after day, certainly does take its toll. It's not that I want to, surely I don't, my mind gives not that choice, no it won't. So as the patient in my office does sit, my mind to me does say: 'they won't make it.' To be optimistic, anything I would have traded, for a tragedy it is, a pedes oncologist so jaded.
