Heart

Heart

I’ve never seen a heart as broken as yours.
And yet, standing next to the lake, I see that we are reflections of each other. I know that people suffer day in and day out, but when you outstretched your hand to me, your scared arm and blood stained wrist brought me to tears.

Even as you tried to grasp the world into front you, it disappeared into nothingness. And after-awhile, the light faded from your eyes.

So empty now, even when you smile, your soul has been burdened enough with the weight each conflict tearing away at you.

My inner hero wants to save you, but I can not change what has already been. Still, I hope that someday you can forgive me, and that I can forgive myself for not appearing in your life sooner....
