A toy

A toy

A Poem by Dpoet

I'm tired of being a toy
The one you misplace
Replace
And discard
The one you push to the side
When not needed
And bring to the light
When it's convenient

I'm tired of being a toy
The one that is made out of stone
And left all alone
In times of need
I bare your greed
You don't want to share
Yet you don't care
How is that fair?

I'm tired of being a toy
A thing or a fling
You already cut my wings
How much more do you need?
All this is weighing me down
They already let me down
Are you gonna let me drown?
Oh I forgot,I'm just a joke.

That was a surprising and clever twist. At first "a toy" brings to mind sweet memories of childhood, but the first line spins it the other way and smacks it away.
