Under velvet sky
Their Love was declared
Moon, witness
To their binding
Hearts racing
Breathless excitement
Sweet, cool air
Climaxing a night of passion
He made her his own
She stole his soul
Feeding
A Lovers frenzy
Becoming one
Divisionless
Single
Yet two the same
Unknown to them
Witnessing
In shadows of blackest coal
The seer of all
Wrung his hands in glee
At destruction, and pain and hate
For twas his plan
To have slain
The passion
Of the night
To rip the moon
From the sky's womb
To live eternal day
So away he crept
To tell the King
The passion he had seen
Cursing the moon
From shadows of black
Swearing it's demise
To the castle walls
His dungeon home
Chuckling, the news was broke
Under a full sun morn
The King commanded
" Bring them to me
My wife, My Love
Has betrayed and slept with another
Ten Thousand Guineas to the man
To bring me the head of her Lover! "
The price was set, the hunt was on
For a man, but " No " said the seer
" Twas not the fault, of neither woman nor man
Twas the fault
Of The Lovers Moon "
The King had scorned
Until it dawned
Their binding was nocturnal
" The moon " he cried
Fire in his eyes
" defeat, destroy
Kill it "
A thousand arrows flew that night
A thousand veins were opened
But ne'er a one
Belonged to the moon
It rested high
Looking down
As arrows raced pierce it
Alas one did,
Turning the moon blood red
The evening sky wept crimson
The King screamed jubilant
The moon fled, defeated
" Be it known " hailed the King
" Lovers moon, from this Kingdom is banished "
But still the moon bleeds
Though the King is long dead
And the Kingdom lay ruined and tattered
Through time and space and history
Still banished and bleeding
Until it's Lover's blood
Is drained completely.
