Pele's Fire

Pele's Fire

A Poem by Dminor6

Your lips are like Pele’s fire,
The glowing red amber of a Goddess
Revealing only a fiery touch
Of the ever burning passion
That lies deep within you

Like those of my blood before me
My blood is drawn to and for you
Driving with desire through my veins
Wanting to win your favor with
The gift of my mortality

My skin tightens in your heat as I near you
Burning me in glorious pain and doomed ecstasy
As I stand at the edge of my life and my death
Awaiting your sign and my moment
To sacrifice myself into you

I throw all my being into your burning passion
Letting my life become part of your immortality
As my body blissfully turns to embers
That scatter across the heavens
By your satisfied breath after

I die within your fire
