Our Own Drum

Our Own Drum

A Poem by Dizzy
"

I am me and you are you.

"
I move in and out,
All around others.
My beliefs are beating,
My life is pumping.
boom
The pummel of my feet moving,
The dance that is all my own,
The noise only I can hear.
boom
Tradition has left my ears,
My own heart has more depth.
boom
My own drum.
Boom

I really liked this. In its simplicity, this poem had so much strength and so much impact, and I thought that that was brought out really well through the single word 'Boom'. It flowed really well, and I felt myself being able to connect to some kind of silent rhythm within your piece. I particularly liked the line 'My own heart has more depth', as I could relate to this like you wouldn't believe, and I thought that you worded it in the perfect way. Nice work,
