Did I ever mention this, mention this, mention this.
That I'm here, but I was gone a long time ago.
I'm that ghost you wake up to in the morning.
I'm that wind that makes you kringe
When you sniffle in the dawning.
I'm right here baby, but I'm gone
And I was gone a long time ago.
Let your ideas of me be confiscated by the laws of that
Alarm clock that looses it's power everynight!
I'm that black ghost you kiss good night and
I'm that terror in your shadow!
Because I left a long time ago and you still find the time to
Appeal to the stillness of my hollow.
And you entertain the empty echos of my "I Love you"
But it brews in the stew of your soul as sweet food,
But leaves you so hungry.
And baby its all for nothing
Because I am the ghost of a lover's past
Loved passed by once
And you never gave it another chance
I'm not completely sure what it's about either, because it reads like you're in a relationship with someone you really don't care about, if this is true....then you're a bit of an arse.
If it's a character then HE'S a bit of an arse.
The latter I think is fair enough to write about, but if you're exclaiming the first as something good....then it's maybe time to make a change. Very self-aware though, but with questions sometimes that are ignored I feel. Hmmm!
This is particularly powerful because it evokes an endless torment; she's dealing with the loss every day and it's the first thing-ish which she meets every morning. I liked the opening, but it was this particular line which got me hooked.
I appreciate the constructive criticism. And I got you on the spelling "cringe" "kringe" gggghh! What was I thinking! lol... (Don't answer that either). You pegged the meaning though. I may be the arse, but or just the lesser of two big arses? lol. That question is supposed to be unanswered!
